I’m always amazed when I see thunder clouds rolling in. I love the different shapes and shadows that clouds develop. As I watch them roll by, I imagine how I would paint them and what techniques I could use. The focus of “Mirror Lake” isn’t necessarily the lake, but the heaviness of the incoming thunderheads. You can almost “hear” the thunder. This is an acrylic piece on acrylic titanium double-primed canvas, back-stapled with kiln-dried stretcher bars, and varnished for fade protection.
